2025 PINE RIVER DEMO DERBY RULES
​Compact Cars
Allowed vehicles
-
Front wheel drive: max 113" wheelbase, V6 or less from factory.
-
Rear wheel drive: max 108" wheelbase.
Bumpers
-
Any factory loaded or homemade bumper allowed.
-
8" max spread over 32". No sharp points.
-
18" max height to the bottom of bumper.
-
You may hardnose and shorten the frame to the core support.
-
Bumper may be mounted using a 6" plate, bolt, or chain. Plate must start at bumper.
-
You are allowed to weld frame and subframe together with bumper bracket.
Frame plates & repair
-
2 fix-it plates (4x4) per frame rail. 4 total per car.
-
If using a plate behind hood bolt all-thread, it must not exceed ½" past threaded rod or it counts as a fix-it plate.
-
Rust repair: 2" past rust, â…›" max plate steel. Thicker counts as a fix-it plate.
-
You may connect frame and subframe in one extra spot besides the bumper bracket.
Doors, trunks & hoods
-
Body shaping allowed.
Doors:
-
May be welded, chained, or bolted shut.
-
Weld: 20" plate max per seam.
-
Chains/wire: 6 max per door, only one may wrap frame.
Hoods:
-
Must have a 12" inspection hole.
-
May be chained or bolted in 6 spots max.
-
All-thread allowed through core support to subframe.
Trunks:
-
May be bolted with 2 all-thread plus bolted/chained/welded.
-
Weld: 20" plate max per seam.
-
Chain: 4 max on trunk lid.
Fenders
-
May be body-shaped.
-
Max 4 bolts per fender (⅜" bolts).
-
Washers max 2x2xâ…›".
Subframes
-
You may remove pucks.
-
No stuffing of subframes.
-
No welding unless specified.
-
May bolt back through floor using factory-sized bolts.
-
Front may be bolted through core support.
Body
-
Rust repair allowed with factory-thickness steel, 2" past rust.
-
No firewall plating.
Cage
-
Must have a 4-point cage.
-
Halo allowed, welded to cage only.
-
4 down bars max, welded to floor tin only.
-
Gas tank protector allowed, must not touch sheet metal.
-
Cage max 66" from front-most point backward.
-
Battery box and tranny cooler may be bolted to cage or floor—not both.
Engine (factory V6 or less)
-
Headers allowed.
-
No cradles, header protectors, or carb protectors.
-
May use square tubing to replace factory mounts—not to reinforce car.
Radiator
-
You may bolt a plate (¼" max) in front of radiator to core support. No welding.
Tires
-
No tire rule.
Front end
-
May weld 2x4x4 tubing behind strut tower (frame only) to protect from bending.
-
Strut spacers allowed for bumper height.
-
Must use factory struts and steering.
Gas tank
-
Factory gas tanks must be removed.
-
Replacement tank must be inside the car.
-
No plastic tanks.
-
Must have a protector.
Battery
-
Must be removed from factory location and securely mounted inside.
-
Battery box should be bolted down (strongly recommended).
Aftermarket parts
-
Tuned ECMs, shifters, headers, carb swaps, transmission coolers allowed.
If it doesn't say it in the rules, don't do it! Pre-rans must meet all rules.
